Legend of CrystaniaThe Legend of Crystania was pretty nice. It had some of those things you usually don't find in anime. It took place on another planet where there were a plentiful amount of animal gods. When a person gets born he chooses a god to work for. Now depending on who you choose as your god determines what kind of powers you get and what your job or mission is. The powers are cool because there like the were wolf stuff. For instance, one of the characters chose the lion god and when he chose to he turned into some sort of a part human part lion part uber thing. Well that's how it is on one side of the world. You see the world is split in two by a giant wall that looks like a snake. They say in the story that it was made by the snake god. (go figure) Going on, the story is that 300 years before the main characters were even old enough to pooh their diapers this guy King Ashram (pronounced ASH-RAM ::max shakes his head and says ,"Poor, poor, Ash."::) and his people are looking for Crystania, the land on the side of the snake wall with the gods, and can't find it. Well as luck should have it, the evil minded and over all mean spirited animal god Barbas (pronounced BAR-BUS ::max shaking his head says, "One more vowel and that'd be ripping off Mr. T's name from the A-Team."::) says to King Ashram (poor Ash) that he will show him where Crystania is if Ashram gives him his soul and body. Ashram does and his people and him find Crystania. They build a kingdom and a city there (oh and by the way Barbas is the animal god of the tiger) but Ashram, who is now possessed by Barbas, just sits in his throne for 300 years. About a short time after Burbas, now in Ashram's body, the main character, prince, nifty, swordsman Redon witnesses his father and his entire village get burned to the ground (and his dog get turned into a leaky piece of meat) by a rival city state trying to gain control. He barley manages to escape with his mage buddy, a priestess, a little girl, and Obier. Obier kicks ass. You might not like him in the beginning but that's just because he tried to kill an old man and gets schooled. But after that he just rules. 6 out of 10 times he kills a person the person usually ends up getting cleaved in half. Very cool. Any ways the group runs into the snake wall, and Redon is so full of rage he sticks his sword into it. Barbas on the other side of the wall apparently hears him and tells him that he will grant him the power he needs to destroy the rival city's forces if he comes and finds him. Then all of a sudden an opening in the snake wall appears and the group runs through. Once they get through they face uber snake god followers who try to kill them but get cleaved in half, damn straight, and the snake wall opening behind them closes trapping them in Crstania. Later on the catch up with Sheru, a spiffy, long eared, dark elf wench, and the lion guy i talked about earlier. They end up on a mission to save King Ashrams soul. The ending of the movie is cool.You know what. This movie was pretty cool. It could have used some more fighting scenes. But the ones that were in the movie were nice. The story line works out, even though they end up calling Sheru by three different names at the end of the movie. Animation on the main characters in the good, while the others could stand to be better. All in all a good movie. I give it 7 out of 10 on the tony the tiger morphin soldier of doom scale. Gotta love that cleavin. I just watch the movie again to see all that good cleavage, uhh, i mean hackin in halfage... By Max
