Dragonball
What can I say about Dragonball? Everyone knows this series and nowadays, it is most people's intro to anime. Good a place to start as any.
Dragonball is the ongoing story of a midget monkey child and how he grows up to marry an angry ogre and befriends a series of rejected circus people. He later turns into a one man tank and unstoppable killing machine. Goku, the main character, is dumb as dumb can be, and yet also the strongest character of the series. Goes to show -- the bigger they are, the harder they. . . hit their heads as a child.
The main features of this show envolve 60% taunting, 20% jokes, and 20% action. 90% of the fighting being taunting. It utilizes the now standard ki blast and flying manuvers. The main draw of this show for most people is easy to recognize -- MASS LAND-SCAPE DESTRUCTION! Ranging from the subtle skid mark, to the comedic ki crater, and the "oh so funny" destruction of earth, this show has it all.
In conclusion, this show gets, in my new grading scale, 8 out of 10 fried wombats. A good show, lacking depth and making up for it in chaos, comedy, and destruction. A-ok!
