Marmalade Boy
Basically, I added this one just because I need at least one bad review. (Sure, and to quickly thicken the section.) I try usually to review only series' I would reccomend. Oh well.
Marmalade Boy is the typical love story. Boy meets girl. Boy's parents divorce. Girl's parents divorce. Parents inter-marry. Boy and girl are now brother and sister. Brother dates sister. A love story like any other, and one I would be proud to share.
With such a beautiful plot and such potential, what could have gone so wrong here? First - this movie cannot decide whether it is a comedy or a drama. And so it decides to do neither well. The story goes nowhere, depicting an hour and a half of a boy's crush and a final asking out on a date. No interaction goes on between the main characters (whose names you couldn't beat out of me with a club) until the last ten minutes. NOTHING HAPPENS!
Overall, this movie has very little plot and no real content. The only think that makes this movie tolerable (which it isn't) is a little boy who calls himself "GammaMan", a superhero. This movie (and its subsequent series) is not recommended for anyone over the age of eleven and NO boy. In fact, watch this movie only at 3:00AM, only if home alone, only if bored enough to ram your head through a brick wall. On the Dan-scale? 2 out of 10 festering dog-piles. Wow, go you.
