Flame of ReccaThis show, the little-brother of my favorite two, is fairly unheard of, but gaining popularity. Flame of Recca centers around a teenage boy named. . . Recca. Who shoots guess what through his right hand. . . flames. Recca was shot forward in time four-hundred years with his brother by his mother, who in the process became immortal. Recca and his brother, Kurei, now do battle to decide who will rule the four-hundred year dead kingdom of ninjas. Or something like that. . . I don't think I could write a crazier plot if I tried.Flame of Recca is yet another comedy/action show. Recca is more for the slower, less school-taught, more redneck otaku. It consists of 2 episodes of intro, 2 of closing, and 37 of pure, mind-less fighting. Even the fighting here, for the most part, is brainless and low on plot. Example - Recca fights the enemy - doesn't stand a chance. Enemy brings Recca to the verge of death and/or hurts a friend. Recca discovers new, previously unseen flame power. Reduces the enemy to a smoldering heap. Reming you of any other show?? ::cough::dragonball::cough:: Other characters include the should-be strong, but always losing Domon (STOOGE ATTACK!!), the never-yielding, but always loosing Fuko, and a delightful little girl with a talking Fox. (Anyone ELSE think that the fox joke was drawn out a little too long??) The love interest (as all series' must have) is known as Hime, or princess. This nickname. which starts as an inside joke between the two, eventually evolves into a sick obsession and cause for the pain of everyone. Damn that Recca bringing everything to extremes. Though simplistic at times, never slow and full of action. Well choreographed fights, and non-stop action. On the Danny scale -- 8 out of 10 beheaded grandmas. Damn smooth. By Danny
