Trigun
Trigun is a well written comedy/action series. In fact, I cried all the way through it; actually not because it was sad, but because the whole time I was sitting on my balls. Ouch. Its actually a funny show.
Trigun is the story of one man, Vash, and his wanderings across the world. Vash, "The Stampede", is a wanted man; he actually earned the nickname by wiping out an entire city in a split sec'. Remarkably, no one was hurt. And yet, no one knows how it was done. In other news, Nerf has recently developed the all-new Atomic lawn dart.
The initial plot of Trigun is simply keeping Vash safe and out of trouble. Two insurance agents, Milly and Meryl, follow Vash, making sure he doesn't do too much damage. Unfortunately, they don't even know who Vash is until episode five. Instead, they give him donuts. Homer's got nothing on Vash. Later, a better, less caloric, plot evolves.
Also included in the story are Wolfwood, a militant aetheist priest, and Knives, a man who never, ever holds a knife. Neither of these have cool nicknames like Vash.
To understand the plot of Trigun, one must understand Vash himself. Vash is a walking demolition squad. Seeing Vash is the equivalent of having an hydrogen bomb dropped on your city block with you on the crapper. Not that that would phase me. I am so clutch.
Of course, bombs dropped by the Japanese are scary. They're tough. They have ninjas. You can't just beat ninjas. Not with guns.
This show has some pretty cool fight scenes, but they are far too few and far between. They end way too fast. And, surprisingly enough, in Trigun, there actually are tri guns! Er, three guns. Three. In addition, the theme song sucks. Its only redeeming aspect is that it swallows too. No sticky mess.
Overall, Trigun probably gets an about average grade on the hardcore scale. If it were a Carebear, it would reign supreme. In prison, it'd be Bubba's bitch. On the Danny scale, however, Trigun gets a 7 out of 10 ceramic dog tattoos. Definitely worth seeing if you have time to kill.
