Vampire Hunter D
If there ever was a story which needed more background, this is it. Vampire Hunter D is the story of a dampire with a talking hand which is capable of casting magic. HUH? How did he get this hand??? Where can I get one?
This dampire, named D, goes around killing vampires and protecting human kind from harm. Hired by a beautiful girl, he goes to work as a bodyguard of sorts, of course finding that THIS girl is threatened by none other than the eldest and strongest vampire of all. Of course, D beats the vamp, destroys his clan, and saves the girl. Stangely enough, when offered this girl's body as pay, D simply turns her down! -- MINUS POINTS! Well, eventually, the vampire is destroyed and D's background is unearthed at last. . . kinda.
Overall, managing to steer clear of that all-too-easy "What? You're my father?" twist and keeping up a great atmosphere, this movie classic is taken way down by the lack of nudity or gore. . . riiight. . . On the ol' Danny scale - this movie gets an average 5 out of 10 stakes through the chest. Good, but not great.
